The Community Trustees are a group who have gone beyond the standard partnership in support of the Chamber.
Contributing much appreciated time and revenues, they benefit through added exposure in each and every chamber initiative. Their level of sponsorship serves to strengthen the
Chamber efforts in serving the community and the entire partnership base.
For information on becoming a Trustee, please call 352-383-2165.
In 2015, The Mount Dora Historic Train Depot celebrated its 100 year anniversary! The same year, a magnificent restoration was completed through the greatly appreciated generosity of The Mount Dora Community Trust.
A new roof, high exposed beam ceilings, warm and beautiful heart of pine flooring and the recreation of the old wooden sliding doors to the platform transformed the depot into a breathtaking site. It is the perfect setting for glamorous, intimate parties such as weddings, anniversaries and birthdays, but at the same time is the perfect facility for business meetings and corporate functions.
Reservation and Rates are available by calling the Chamber at 352-383-2165.

Accreditation team to evaluate Mount Dora Police Department
Daily Commercial
The Mount Dora Police Department will be assessed by a team from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation on March 12. They will be reviewing the department’s policies, procedures, management, operations and support services.
The Mount Dora Police Department has to comply with approximately 250 standards in order to receive accredited status. Many of the standards are critical to life, health and safety.
Verification that the Mount Dora Police Department meets the CFA’s standards is part of a voluntary process to gain or maintain accreditation — a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence, Chief John O’Grady said.

The Ultimate Johnny Cash Tribute starring country music veteran Gary West at the Paul P. Williams Fine Arts Center on the campus of Lake Sumter State College.
What separates this show from the rest is that Gary is NOT a Johnny Cash impersonator. Though the sounds can sometimes be haunting when Gary decides he wants to sound like Cash, Willie, and a dozen more voices. He will captivate and entertain an audience just as his predecessors did by combining great vocals, reimagining of classics, as well as original songs that seem like standards after the first time you hear them.
