American Revolution Experience Exhibi...Description
As our nation begins preparations for the semi-quincentennial (250th) anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026, the American Battlefield Trust has partnered with the Daughters of the American Revolution to connect modern audiences with the fascinating story of our nation’s origin. The American Revolution Experience will travel to scores of libraries, historical societies and museums through 2025, introducing visitors to a cast of historical characters with diverse experiences throughout the conflict and the places they visited on their journey. This innovative pop-up exhibition includes display panels and interactive digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology and unique artifacts and primary accounts to connect modern audiences with the people and places that shaped the birth of our nation.
The W.T. Bland Public Library in Mount Dora, Florida has been selected to serve as one of four exhibit sites in Florida, beginning Saturday, March 22, through Saturday, April 5, 2025. You are cordially invited to the exhibit’s Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 9:30am at the library. Refreshments will be served for the brief program, followed by the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, all hosted by the Ocklawaha Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Collection displays and related programming are scheduled during these two weeks, all to reinforce the impact of the incredible sacrifices and tough decisions made by our ancestors to create our nation. We hope to see you there!
